Paris Metro System: take Line 2 get off at the stop BLANCHE. The Moulin Rouge is right in front of the stop when you exit. The Cafe Deux Moulines is on Rue Lepic, which is one of the streets to the right of the Metro Stop (Blanche).
There is of course the way we went…through this quaint village called Junnot. It is between Monmartre and the Moulin Rouge….and about three set of directions. Yes, my party & I went “adventuring” (such a great euphemism for “we got lost”).
Our first stop was Monmartre and Sacre-Coeur. Which for those curious is Metro Line 2 stop MONMARTRE. On the Metro the stop name had Sacre-Coeur under it in small lettering. [Apparently the Pope is coming to this church.]
In Monmartre we stopped and bathed it all in. This place has such history and lore. Of course someone had to order Absinthe…thanks to Sophia many got a taste. I passed- from the look on their faces I could tell it was not for me. It’s one thing off their lists right? We then walked around the place- it is absolutely incredible. Everything is pretty and quaint. This is especially so when we got to Junnot. No one there spoke English. It was not touristy at all. But it was a “Parisian” neighborhood- complete with adorable bakery and flower shops. 🙂 What a way to spend my last night in the great city of Paris!!! Tomorrow Pau!!!
