*tomorrow I will sit down and write the story of these pictures*
We spent the day eating at a market and touring the town. This was a legit medieval town….so, it was kinda awesome and cute. Also, as I warned you all in a previous post- I forget which- I’m kinda obsessed with photographing old fashioned lamps…of which there were plenty. So… be prepared for that. 🙂

Our view in the morning 🙂
-
-
The back patio!!
-
-
I didn’t realize how creepy this guy was until I saw him in fog.
-
-
All of the SIT-ers attacked the animals. We all miss our furry friends back home.
-
-
One of the animals we all wanted to steal…
-
-
This cat had to be one of the most love-y cats I know…that being said that cats at my house find humor in attacking me on a regular basis.
-
-
If only the owners weren’t watching…
-
-
I asked the directrice if I could buy some chickens… she said no.
-
-
In case you can’t read- like the people during the Medieval Ages- this is a bakery.
-
-
Windows are important. There are different kinds for the different time periods, and they each have an actual reason for existing… I really hope I don’t get asked what these reasons are exactly on a test.
-
-
A pretty road.. being a Medieval town there are lots of them.
-
-
The historical market!!! … I have a feeling its a lot older than Findlay Market in Cincinnati. Just a hunch.
-
-
A bit San Francisco in France!! lol The windiest path ever!
-
-
Notice the purple window frames in the background… that’s why she’s standing there 🙂 lol
-
-
The scenery!
-
-
Purple window frames!! … I really liked these.
-
-
And, the glory of Europe, you never know when art work will show up.
-
-
Where I ate my lunch… alongside a river, on a bench, in a Medieval town… I felt super French 🙂
-
-
Another lovely little road… I wonder if the Europeans understand American fascination with all their little roads.
-
-
This was all me: I really liked the architecture here.
-
-
-
A mosaic!
-
-
…and another cute road…
-
-
check out this door frame!!
-
-
I forgot to ask what happened on November 11th… something had to have happened in order for there to be a road named after the day.
-
-
….another little road…
-
-
The market empty… I thought it looked picturesque.
-
-
So, we were sent out in groups to find random things in the town.
-
-
These things weren’t actually random. They all had a point to them.
-
-
Because in Europe, their memory goes really really really really far back…
-
-
These are pictures of the items I had to find. The symbolized specific things during the time they were created.
-
-
Wealth, protection, etc.
-
-
So its not just that these things are pretty, they actually had a purpose…
-
-
Searching for our meaningful items.
-
-
…another picturesque moment…
-
-
and another
-
-
It may look like we are lost… but the town was about the size of one average suburb in the US so… you couldn’t really get lost. If you kept walking you find someone you knew within a street or two.
-
-
I was impressed by the graffiti.
-
-
Its good, no?
-
-
“And…it might be that window? Or… that one? Je ne sais pas.” …I’m not sure if they were actually saying this, but seriously, to as an American to find different windows…all of our just come from Gilkey. (This is merely a comment on the culture differences…I can’t get over that windows have meaning.)
-
-
I’m assuming that I really just liked this image.
-
-
encore…
-
-
POST CARD picture!!
-
-
-
From here on out… there are a bunch of photos that I just really had to take.

I just liked this fella’

I’m not sure if there was a lesson to image, or if I just liked it…
-
-
I just liked it!!
-
-
windows!! I think these were made like this to increase light.
-
-
I forget… but there was a story behind this photo…
-
-
Okay here is something kind of cool, and it explained a lot.
-
-
-
Through out the town there is a lot of Egyptian stuff. I had no idea why.
-
-
Explanation: The Rosetta Stone had rested in Figeac for some time. It is now in England (?), but here is an image of the stone in a special square.
-
-
for example…
-
-
-
-
Ta dah!! The stone. Each step indicates the beginning of the next language.
-
-
proof I was there 🙂
-
-

-
Why the picture of the toilet?…notice there is no plumbing… it’s a dry toilet! The place were we stayed was an eco-friendly establishment. To decrease the amount of wasted water they put in dry-toilets.
-
-
It’s not a weird as it sounds.. but it was sort of odd.
